Transparency is not something you can expect when it comes to Apple's iOS devices. If you want to know what is happening behind those sleek and elegant menus, you can use Macgo iPhone Explorer. It gives you access to all system and app files on your iOS device and it allows you to manage them. You can browse through the files just like on an explorer window and you can also copy them from one side to the other.

The software is available for Windows and Mac and it is absolutely free. It takes only a few moments to complete the installation procedure and there is no need to sacrifice too many resources. You will need to have iTunes on your computer, otherwise the program won't work.

The first thing you need to know is that Macgo iPhone Explorer is not a traditional iSO manager. If you expect to be able to use it to organize your audio playlists, manage your photos and so on, then you are looking in the wrong place. The software is intended for system files, which are of no interest to regular users or beginners.

Like most iOS-related software, Macgo iPhone Explorer will present its core functions once you connect an iPhone, iPad or iPod to your computer. It provides you with general information about your device, including its serial, phone number, free and used space and so on. You can view media and root files, crash logs, voice memos, contacts and other file types in separate sections, which can be accessed through a series of navigation options, located on the left side of the user interface.

Files are presented in a list, along with options for saving and deleting them. You can also find options for creating new folders and importing files from your computer, above the files list. Besides system files, Macgo iPhone Explorer allows you to go through app files as well. The software displays the files for each app separately. What's more, user and system apps are listed separately, to make it easier when you are looking for a particular app.

Pros

You can explore system and app files on your iOS device. The software presents them in a well organized manner. Macgo iPhone Explorer is free, cross platform and it can be installed almost instantly.

Cons

The application may fail to find certain file types. Macgo iPhone Explorer can show you the files and folders that Apple doesn't care to show on your iOS device.
